THE STORY OF TRAIL DOG OUTFITTERS

Trail Dog Outfitters was formed in January, 2006 by a father and son, following the attendance of a trade show in Charlotte with their brother and uncle, owner of Qwik Dog. Their minds started spinning to generate an idea for the creation of an e-commerce web based business. The son had recently adopted a black lab/beagle dog, Bailey, from the humane society and both father and son had developed a great appreciation of the great outdoors and the beauty of God's creation through their youth scouting adventures, both achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; cross country road trips; and residing in the foothills below the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. Using Bailey as the mascot, the name Trail Dog Outfitters surfaced and the business was formed that would provide high quality outdoor apparel along with unique items for outdoor, nature, and dog enthusiast.

Then in 2011, two former high school classmates reunited via Facebook. They both had expressed desires to change their long time careers. One was in sales the other in Interior Design. Through much research and inspired by Taylor, the designers golden retriever, they developed Dirty Dogs, a self serve spa and boutique for dogs. Wanting to add additional products to their boutique that were very unique and appealing to all ages, they found Trail Dog Outfitters. They were both excited because this company was started in their hometown, Wilkesboro NC.

Upon contacting Trail Dog Outfitters to purchase their products, it became apparent that the two businesses would be great together by combining their love for our canine friends and the great outdoors. After more research, several discussions, and bringing on another family member, Dirty Dogs purchased Trail Dog Outfitters.
